Vercel is extending Deployment Storage and Functions Storage billing to existing Pro teams, turning retained deployment history into a line item that site operators may need to actively manage.

In an Oct. 9 changelog entry, Vercel said billing will begin for all Pro teams at $0.10 per GB-month for both Deployment Storage and Functions Storage. The company said teams should check their email for the specific start date that applies to their account.

The change is paired with a retention-policy shift: Vercel says deployment retention will move to 30 days to keep storage costs low, and deployments older than 30 days will start being deleted on Oct. 23 unless teams opt out or adjust their retention settings before then. Retention settings that are already 30 days or shorter are unchanged.

For hosting and web operations teams, the operational detail is rollback history. Vercel notes that deleted deployments cannot be used for rollback, so teams relying on older production or pre-production deployments for audits, comparisons, or emergency recovery should review their deployment retention policy before automatic cleanup begins.

Separately, Vercel said new Pro teams now default to 30-day deployment retention. Together, the updates make stored deployment artifacts a cost and governance setting rather than an unlimited background feature for Pro-tier projects.
